Mother Shirley Malinda Eason Walton also known as “Shirleen” was born in Perquimans County, NC to the late Elcanor Eason and Malinda Eason Riddick on April 30, 1937. She departed this earthly life peacefully in the early morning hours of April 20, 2021 in Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center, Elizabeth City, NC.

Shirley joined Winslow Grove AME Zion Church and served as a faithful member and Deaconess for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, serving others, and working in her flowers.

"Shirleen" was preceded in death by her loving husband of over fifty years, Charlie Frank Walton, two sisters, Ada Mae Jones and Rosa Lee Eason, and brother Noah Eason.

The wonderful children of Mother Walton decided to commemorate the beautiful life of their mother on Sunday, the twenty-fifth day of April starting at one o'clock with a Time of Glimpse and Reflection. At two o'clock Pastor Joseph Walton and Rev. Elsie Cole will orchestrate the Methodological aspects of the Funeral Service. All services will take place on the Terra Firma of Winslow Grove AME Zion Church. Mrs. Walton earthly shell will be laid to rest beside the love of her life at the Walton Family Cemetery in Belvidere, NC.

Due to the Pandemic that we are in at this time, we WILL be following all proper health and safety protocols. ALL attendees and participants of the Time of Glimpse and Reflection, Funeral Service and Committal Services will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing during the duration of all services for Mother Walton.

Left to cherish her memories are her children: Thomas Bruce Hickson of Virginia Beach, VA, Robert Hickson (Regina) of Belvidere, NC, Tony Hickson (Marilon) of Virginia Beach, VA, Shirley Hickson of Belvidere, NC, Charline Walton (Donshay) of Charlotte, NC, Darlene Lindsey (Thomas) of Clayton, NC, Mary Ann Norris (Sammie) of St. Petersburg, FL, Dorothy Holley(Freeman) of Hobbsville, NC, Dollie Manley (Ronald) of Hillside, NJ and Richard Walton of Hobbsville, NC; grandchildren raised as children: Nakita Beale (Randy) of Greenville, NC, Chaliyah and Quaheim Walton of Newport News, VA; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers-in-laws: John Walton of Belvidere, NC and Irvin Walton of Waterbury, CT; two sister-in-laws: Katherine Walton of Waterbury, CT and Rose Mary Walton of Edenton, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Walton Family has once again entrusted the team and their extended family of Dennis J.
