ALL day and ALL night ANGELS are watching over the Johnson-James Families

"...When I get to Heaven, I'm gonna jump and shout, nobody will be able to put me out, MY MOTHER will be waiting, MY FATHER, MY BROTHER and SISTER too, we'll get together and walk around Heaven ALL day...and when he says, Little Sister, well done then my race, has been won.."

 

Sgt. Sarah Elizabeth Johnson-James the daughter of the late Herman Johnson and Geneva Johnson (whom transitioned one day prior to), gained her wings on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 surrounded by her family and devoted and loving niece Torina Privott.

Sarah was reared in a Christian home and joined Leighs Temple AME Zion Church. She was a graduate of Perquimans County Union School. After a brief stay in Brooklyn, NY after graduation, Sarah returned back to Elizabeth City, NC and attended the illustrious Elizabeth City State University where she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. Sarah worked in the Prison system for a number of years and retired at the rank of Sgt. Sarah Johnson-James. 

The Johnson Family was faced with two untimely passings within a twenty-four hour time span. With so many questions, they leaned and trusted in God to direct them in the planning of the Celebration of Life service for Sgt. James. Friends and family will have an hour to view her earthly shell on Sunday, March 27, 2022 starting at the two o'clock hour at Mt. Lebanon AME Zion Church, Elizabeth City, NC. At three o'clock Pastor Bowe will Eulogize Sgt. James and Mother Johnson, whom will be laid to rest together in the Leighs Temple AME Zion Church Cemetery.

Sgt. James leaves to cherish her memories to her husband-Luther James of Elizabeth City, NC; two brothers-Clinton Johnson and Leon Johnson (Cynthia) all of Elizabeth City, NC; one loving sister-Diane Johnson of Brooklyn, NY; a special cousin-Connie Freeman of Brooklyn, NY; two sister in-laws-Lillie Mae Parker and Doris Butts of NY; one brother in-law-Stevie James (Delores); a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The Johnson-James Family bestowed the honor upon the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville, NC to serve them during their time of bereavement. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Johnson-James Families during their hours of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and detailed personalized services catered to the Johnson-James Families wishes and desires. Please continue to uplift the family of Sgt. Sarah Elizabeth Johnson James and all connected families through words of comfort, telephone calls/text messages, prayers, "virtual" hugs, thoughts or even just a smile.
