Obituary

"ALL day and ALL night angels are watching over the Miner Family"

"...Now the one that you call mama
She may be sleeping in the arms of our God
But the memories of the family devotion
Causes us to always trust in our Lord
Oh, she prayed for the Lord to bless and keep her children
Always let the love of God abide
Oh and the prayer that she prayed will
Cover us till we meet her, meet her on the other side,
...Oh I still hear mama praying for me.."

In the late hours of October 28, 2021, Mother Otelia Kee Miner, traded in her earthly garments of lovely hats and suits for her crown and robe, and took steps down the streets paved in gold.

She was the daughter of the late James and Bessie Kee. At an early age she became a member of Joppa Baptist Church, where she remained an active member. She was in the Senior Choir, Assistant Treasurer, Kitchen Committee and Pastor’s Aide. She was a Pride of the Lilies. The biggest hat she was wore at Joppa was being the “Mother of the Church”.

Mother was preceded in death by her children-Sheldia Miner, Kelleston Miner, Bessie Miner and Dwane Miner.

Mother as she was affectionately called by so many, life will be remembered on Thursday, November 04, 2021 at the noon hour in the sanctorium of Joppa Missionary Baptist Church, Hobbsville, NC.
