Mother Laura Lee (Outland) Wiggins

"ALL day and ALL night, ANGELS are watching over the Outland and Wiggins Families"

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.  Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever." (Psalm 23)

During the early evening hours of February 7, 2023, Mother Laura Lee Outland Wiggins, the family prayer warrior, answered the call and received her new address in Heaven. 

"She is clothed with strength and dignity;  she can laugh at the days to come.  She speaks with wisdom,
    and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed;
    her husband also, and he praises her.." (Proverbs 31:25-28)

She was the daughter of the late Joe Outland, Sr. and Louvenia Walton Outland. She was the fifth child of seventeen siblings. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Wiggins Sr., son- Thomas Wiggins Jr.; grandson- Adrian Thomas Owens; four great-grand children Serenity Wiggins, Chasity Wiggins and Baby Brothers; three sisters; Ethel Outland, Minnie Mozell, and Winfield Outland; and eight brothers; Nathaniel Sr., Leslie, David, John Henry, Robert, Willie, Raymond and Charlie Outland.

Mother Wiggins matriculated through the Gates County School System. She was reared in a Christian home in Gatesville, NC. At an early age she joined Lebanon Grove Missionary Baptist Church. As an adult she moved her membership to Believers Victory Center under Bishop David L. White Jr.  Laura  after moving to Durham, NC joined Armed and Ready Ministries, where she was the Mother of the church under the leaders of George and Linda Riddick.

"And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:4)

The Wiggins Family will rejoice and celebrate the Angelic life that Mother Wiggins lived on Sunday, February 12, 2023 at the two o'clock hour, at the Louise's Event Center in Hertford, NC. Mother Wiggins earthly shell will be laid to rest in the Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford, NC. 

She leaves to cherish her memories to three children-  William Outland, Durham NC, Barbara Hassell, Hertford NC and Linda (George) Riddick Durham NC; four sisters-Mattie Walton, Chesapeake VA; Rosa Harrell (Eugene), Hobbsville  NC, Cora Outland, Gatesville, NC, and Stella Riddick Gates, NC; one brother- Joe Outland Jr. Hertford, NC; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The Outland-Wiggins Families entrusted the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville, NC to serve them during their time of bereavement. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Outland-WIggins Families during their hours of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and detailed personalized services catered to the Outland-Wiggins Families wishes and desires.
