Mother Frances James Obituary

"ALL day and ALL night Angels are watching over the James Family"

"Everyday is a day of thanksgiving
God's been so good to me
Everyday He's blessing me
Everyday is a day of thanksgiving
Take the time to glorify the Lord today..."

On Thanksgiving morning, Mother Frances Brothers James, surrounded by her devoted children and grandchildren traded in her earthly garments for her Heavenly ones, where she is walking down the streets paved in gold and everyday is a day of THANKSGIVING. Mother James was born on May 5, 1931 in Pasquotank County to the late George Madison and Omedia Walton Brothers.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great and great-great grandmother. She loved God and accepted Him as her Lord and Savior. She fellowshipped with Moses Temple and Mary Holley Grove AME Zion Churches, before joining The Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith.

In May of 1949, she married the love of her life the late Mr. Gaither James, where they shared seventy years of marriage together. Through this union the couple was blessed to rear eleven wonderful children. She was preceded in death by four of her children--Donald Ray James, Vernon James, Troy DeAngelo James and Laverne James Brown.

The James children on one accord have planned the final arrangements for their beloved mother. On Saturday, the third day of December in the year of twenty-two, Mrs. James life will be celebrated at the New Day Church, Elizabeth City, NC, starting precisely at the two o'clock hour. Deacon Roscoe James will bring forth Words of Commiseration. Immediately following the Celebration of Life the James Family along with their friends will peregrinate to the Memory Gardens Cemetery, Elizabeth City, NC, where Mother James earthly shell will be laid to rest beside her husband.

The James Family is requesting that all attendees to the service to PLEASE wear a face mask!

Mrs. James leaves ninety-one years, which symbolizes hope and love (the same age at which her husband transitioned) of memories to her seven children: Gralin James (Debrina) of Conway, NC, Sanford James (Mary) of Hertford, NC, Lionel James of Elizabeth City, NC, Shelton James (Wendy) of Elizabeth City, NC, Arnella J.
