On Thursday, November 19, 2020 our beloved Laverne James Brown was granted her Angel wings while in the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center, in Elizabeth City, NC. Mrs. Brown was the daughter of Mrs. Frances James and the late Mr. Gaither James, Sr., (that passed nine months and one day prior to Laverne) she was also the beloved wife of the late Mr. Rudolph Brown.

Mrs. Browns Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on the premises of the catacomb of Memory Gardens Cemetery, Northside Road, Elizabeth City, NC on Tuesday, the twenty-fourth day of November, 2020 at one o'clock in the afternoon with her brother in-law, Rev. James S. Collins bringing forth words of comfort for the family and friends.

 

In addition to her mother, survivors include her beautiful daughter- Candice Mallory-Berry of Hertford, NC, two wonderful sons- Rudolph Brown Jr. (fiancee' Victoria Brooks) of Elizabeth City, NC and Bobby Brown (Rose) of West Virginia, three devoted sisters- Armella Harris of Brooklyn, NY, Frances Collins (James) and Yolanda Brown both of Elizabeth City, NC; four outstanding brothers- Gwayland James (Debrina) of Conway, NC, Sanford James (Mary) of Hertford, NC, Shelton James (Wendy) and Lionel James both of Elizabeth City, NC and eleven grandchildren whom she loved dearly; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The James Family chose their family at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, to carry out their wishes to honor their mother, daughter, sister, grandmother and friend. DJSMFH professional staff will assist the James Family during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and personalized detailed services. Please continue to uplift the immediate family of Mrs. Laverne James Brown and all connected families through words of comfort, prayer, virtual hugs, thought or a smile!
