Late in the midnight hour on the the twenty-eighth day of November the beloved Georgie Vastie Riddick Norfleet, closed her weary eyelids and we found sweet rest at the close of the day, while a resident of the Vidant Roanoake Chowan Hosptial in Ahoskie, NC.
Georgie Vastie Riddick was born on February 20, 1925 in Gatesville,NC to the late Vastie Privott and the late Addie Marie Riddick.
Georgie was preceded in death by her late husband Grant Norfleet, Lloyd Norfleet (son), Arthur Norfleet (son), Shelley Norfleet (son), Cecil Norfleet (son), Ned Norfleet (son), Roy Norfleet (son), June Norfleet (daughter), Grant Norfleet (son), Otilla Gholson (sister), Bernice Riddick (sister), Ben Boyce,Tyrone Halsey, and Rufus Boyce (brothers).
Her children decided to commemorate a life well lived on Monday the seventh day of December at two o´clock in the afternoon. Services will take place on the Sacrosanctity Environs of the Norfleet Family of Gatesville, NC.
Due to the current Pandemic that we are being faced with at this time, known as Covid-19, we will be practicing and adhering to all mandated protocols, including but not limited to social distancing and all ALL attendees are required to wear proper face coverings.
Left to mourn Georgie’s memories are her five daughters: Addie Pollard and Judy Baker of Gatesville, NC, Estella Presswood and Vernell Patmon of Ahoskie, NC and Althea Norfleet of Huntsville, TX; one son: George Norfleet of Suffolk,VA; three sisters: Arlene Bunch,Janet Bunch and Ann Bond, all of Durham, NC; one brother: Albert Copeland of Greenville, NC; two daughters-in-law: Lois Norfleet and Bonnie Norfleet; and one son-in-law: Willie Hill. Georgie also leave to mourn her memories a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. Georgie will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
The Norfleet Family once again entrusted the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville, NC to serve them during their time of bereavement. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Norfleet Family during their hours of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and detailed personalized services catered to the Norfleet Family wishes and desires.
