Garry "Champ" Bryant Obituary

"ALL night and ALL day ANGELS are watching over the Bryant Family"

"...When Garry gets to Heaven, he's going to jump and shout and nobody will be able to put him out, His mother, she'll be waiting, his father will be too. They'll get together and walk around HEAVEN all day..."

Two years and two days ago, we gathered around the Bryant Family and provided strength and love to them during the passing of the Matriarch of the Bryant Family. It is once more that we are uplifting our Bryant Family with prayers, love, and strength for the days to come, as they are saddened to announce the passing of their beloved brother, father, grandfather, uncle, teammate and friend Garry "Champ" Lee Bryant. Garry was the son of the late Dallas and Mary Bryant.

Garry matriculated through the Perquimans County School System where he was known for his basketball skills. His skills and talent on the court granted him the nickname "Champ", by all who had the opportunity to play with and against him. Not only did Garry have an eye for basketball, he also had an eye for fashion, he was often seen looking dapper in his suits.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic that our country is currently being faced with, the Bryant Family will notify all of "Champs" friends and family members of a future Memorial Service that they will hold to honor his life and legacy.

Garry leaves to cherish three children- "Little Dallas" of Salinas, CA, Jason of Manassas, VA and Tyshaun of Hertford, NC; siblings-Della (Albert) of Elizabeth City, NC; LaTange (Rodney) of Atlanta, GA; Dallas (Andrea) of Atlanta, GA, and Paul (Yvonne) of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren; nieces, nephews, a host of cousins and friends.

The Bryant Family once again allowed their family at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, to carry out their wishes to honor their brother and father. DJSMFH professional staff will assist the Bryant Family during their bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and personalized detailed services. Please continue to uplift the immediate family of Mr. Garry "Champ" Lee Bryant and all connected families through words of comfort, prayers, "virtual" hugs, thought or even just a smile.
