During the evening hours of Thursday, June 09, 2022, Evelyn Marie Lightfoot Johnson surrounded by her loving and devoted children, answered the call from her Heavenly Father and transitioned peacefully to her eternal home. She was the daughter of the late Alfonso and Beulah Lightfoot.

Evelyn was married to the late William C. Johnson, Sr.. She was a vibrant woman that loved to travel, shop, dance and genuinely have fun with her family.  She loved a good meal and always requested that her sons would fix her a hot cup of coffee, with directions to make sure that it was extra hot. 

Her devoted children will carry out her wishes and remember her on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 at eleven o'clock in the morning. Services will take place on the terra firma of the Melton Grove Church Cemetery in Winfall, North Carolina. 

She leaves to cherish many years of fond memories to her six handsome sons and their devoted spouses-Bobby Johnson (Vernise), Larry Johnson (Stephanie), Jerry Johnson (Andrea), Curtis Johnson (JoAnn), Darian Johnson and Jeffery C. Johnson (Bernadette); one beautiful daughter-Barbara Johnson-Crosby (Ronnie); fourteen grandchildren; host of great grandchildren; two brothers-Leroy Lightfoot and Thomas Lightfoot; three sisters-Beulah Lightfoot, Audrey Skinner and Margaret Skinner; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

The Johnson Family entrusted the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville, NC to serve them during their time of bereavement. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Johnson Family during their hours of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and detailed personalized services catered to the Johnson Family wishes and desires.
