Elder Ellis Riddick, Sr. Obituary

"ALL day and ALL night, ANGELS are watching over the Riddick Family"

"Day is done, Gone the sun,
From the lake, From the hill,
From the sky.
All is well, Safely rest,
God is nigh... Thanks and praise, for our days,
'Neath the sun, Neath the stars, 'Neath the sky,
As we go, this we know, God is nigh..."

Our Solider, Elder Ellis L. Riddick Sr., whom was on the battlefield for the Lord for ninety-seven years departed this life peacefully on October 22, 2022. The son of the late Sonney and Mary Riddick, was born on June 25, 1925.

He accepted Christ in his life at an early age at Gospel Tabernacle Church under the leadership of Margaret Fauntleroy. As a young man he worked in construction and was educated in vocational school at Norfolk State College (now Norfolk State University).

Elder Riddick enlisted into the United States Navy in 1944, where he served as a Mechanic, until he was honorably discharged.

Ellis was known in the community for his faith and integrity. He was very church oriented, and loved visiting his family and friends. He did not mind letting you know how good God was to him, and he would let everyone know “HE’S SWEET I KNOW.”

"He's sweet I know, He's sweet I know
Dark clouds may rise and strong winds may blow
But, I can tell the world, Wherever I may go
That I have found a Savior, and He's sweet I know..."
