"ALL day and ALL night Angels are watching over the Webster Family"
"I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be..."
During the midday morning hours on Sunday, August 6, 2023 Dorothy Porter Webster, turned her back from her earthly home to join her husband Celvin Webster in their already prepared Heavenly abode. She was the daughter of the late Robert and Maybelle Porter.
"Dot" as she was called by her family friends, worked in the Elizabeth City Pasquotank Public School System for a number of years before retirement. "Dot" loved her job, as the receptionist at H.L. Trigg, Pasquotank Elementary School, PW Moore Elementary School as well as the Central Office. Everyone that walked in those doors were treated like her family, you would instantly gain a nickname of "baby", "sugar" "my boy", or "my daughter". She wanted nothing but the best for the students that she daily came in contact with.
"Dot" for many years also, worked along side her husband at Webster Sporting Goods, where there motto was, "If they don't have it, you don't need it." They would never let you walk out the store with out buying a shirt, sneakers, hat, or getting a custom made item. "Dot's" love for people started their photo wall in the store, where you could see anyone on it, if legendary NFL players.
Her life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 12, 2023 during a Graveside Service starting promptly at the noon hour, on the grounds of Hillcrest Cemetery, in Ahoskie, North Carolina. Her cousin-in-law, the Rev. James S. Collins will bring forth words of comfort to her family and friends.
She leaves to cherish many years of memories to her son- Bryan Webster (Ernestine), grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dot's family honored her wishes and allowed her family at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, to carry out their final wishes of care and love for her. DJSMFH professional staff will assist the Webster Family during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, heartfelt and personalized detailed services. Please continue to uplift Dot's immediate and extended families through words of comfort, prayer, hugs, or a smile.
"...And if, by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love..."
