Charles "Billy" Scott Obituary

"ALL day and ALL night Angels are watching over the Scott Family"

Charles William Scott Sr. 81, affectionately known as “Billy” went to his eternal fishing hole on September 21, 2023. Billy was born in Woodville, NC on December 13, 1941. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon Scott and his mother, Myrtle Harrell Scott both of Suffolk, VA.

Billy was a long-time resident of Gates, NC and retired as a carpenter. With his skills in the woodshop, he could take the most dilapidated wood and turn it into amazingly functional and beautiful pieces of furniture. Billy also was an avid fisherman who never experienced a bad day fishing.

"Billy" was an exceptional cook/chef. Those friends and family members that had the pleasure to taste any of his food would rave about his homemade potato salad, collard greens that would melt in your mouth and his Gates County famous stuffing that he made at Christmas and Thanksgiving that was equaled by none.

Not only was he an amazing carpenter and renowned cook he had a green thumb that should've led him to the Home Garden Network. His garden always flourished no matter what Mother Nature threw at it, and he would share the harvest with friends and family throughout the year.

The Scott Family have decided to celebrate the life well lived by "Billy" on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the two o'clock hour. Family and friends will gather at the Gates Ruritan Club, in Gates, NC.
