"ALL day and ALL night Angels are watching over the Williams Family"
During the early morning hours of Monday, September 30, 2019, our Lord dispatched his angels to bring home our beloved Angel on Earth Catherine Griffin Williams, which is now our precious Guardian Angel. Catherine departed this life at the Chesapeake Regional Medical Center, Chesapeake, VA.
She was born on June 26, 1938 to Lemuel Griffin Sr. and Adaline Mae Stokley Griffin in Pasquotank County, NC. She was the youngest of twelve children. Lemuel Griffin, Jr., Vassie Griffin, Helen Garett, Lynburgh Griffin, Rosa Lee Williams, Johnny Griffin and Millet Griffin all preceded her in death.
Catherine was married to David Leroy Williams, Sr. in Perquimans County, NC in 1953.
Her legacy was enhanced with the Godly love that she portrayed to her family and friends. But she lived for the Lord and had great admiration for her church (Lambs Grove Missionary Baptist Church) of Elizabeth City, NC and church family. She had a special love for Pastor Oscar E. Butts and his wife Gail Butts of Camden, NC.
She also had much love for her yard and those crazy hedges. Its always took a seafood sampler from Quality Seafood to get her to come in from the yard.
The Williams children have decided on the following arrangements for their beloved mother. On Friday, October 4, 2019 a Graveside Service will take place at the Memory Gardens Cemetery in Elizabeth City, NC, starting promptly at eleven o'clock in the morning. Pastor Oscar Butts will bring forth words of comfort for the family and friends.
