On Thursday, April 29, 2021, our Heavenly Father looked around his garden and found an empty place, he then dispatched angels from glory to bring home a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Mrs. Audrey Griffin Armstrong. Mother Armstrong, gained her own pair of Angel wings in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her devoted family and caretakers. 

Audrey was on born January 3, 1927 to the late Willie Ray and Mamie Cherry Griffin.

She accepted Christ at an early age and joined Antioch Baptist Church and remained a faithful member until her death. Throughout her time at Antioch, Audrey served as a Trustee and on several other Auxiliary Boards.

On May 31, 1946, Audrey was united in holy matrimony to her first love, Eddie “Jazz” Armstrong. 

The Armstrong Family has finalized the services for Mother Audrey. A Time of Glimpse and Reflection (walk-through viewing ONLY) at Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, Gatesville, NC on Friday, May 07, 2021 between the afternoon hours of four to six o'clock in the evening.  At  the noon  hour on Saturday, May 08, 2021 the Celebration of Life Service will take place on the Garth of Memory Gardens Cemetery, Northside Road, in Elizabeth City, NC. 

Due to the Pandemic that we are in at this time, we WILL be following all proper health and safety protocols. ALL attendees and participants of the Time of Glimpse and Reflection and the Graveside Service will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing during the duration of all services for Mrs. Armstrong.

Left to cherish her memories are her son, William “W.C.” Armstrong (Rita) and her daughter Karen Yvette Spellman both of Elizabeth City, NC. Nine grandchildren; Taneisha, Shaunette (Travis), Dedra (Mike), Sharonda (Kevin), Shaune’, Kateira, Victor Jr. (Daneisha), Ethanuel and Lethan; 13 great-grandchildren; sister Joyce Johnson (Cliff) of South Mills, NC, brother Roy Griffin of Chesapeake, VA; sister-in-law’s, Leola Armstrong of Elizabeth City, NC and Shirley Griffin of South Mills, NC and a host of other nieces, nephews, family members and friends.

Audrey is preceded in her transition to heaven by her husband Eddie Armstrong, siblings Joseph, James, Marie and Mamie and great-grandson, Collin Armstrong.

The Armstrong Family entrusted the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville, NC to serve them during their time of bereavement. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Armstrong Family during their hours of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and detailed personalized services catered to the Armstrong Family wishes and desires.
