"ALL day and ALL night ANGELS are watching over the Melton Family"
"Two roads diverged in a yellow wood, and sorry I could not travel both and be one traveler, long I stood and looked down one as far as I could, to where it bent in the undergrowth...I shall be telling this with a sigh, somewhere ages and ages hence: two road diverged in a wood, and I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference."
Anthony Glenn Melton known to his friends as “Joker” was born on August 5, 1973 to the late Teressa Winslow Melton and Billy Ray Melton in Ahoskie, NC. Anthony took his final road trip on February 11, 2021 in Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, VA.
Anthony a life- long Gates County resident was educated in the Gates County School System. While in attending high school Anthony obtained his CDL’s and drove school/activity buses and was a member of the National Guard going to drills on the weekends. He graduated from Gates County High School in 1992 and joined the National Guard, until an injury took place.
He drove for several trucking companies making many friends along the way. His love of trucks led him to his ultimate goal….of becoming the proud owner-operator of A. G. Melton Trucking LLC. Anthony had a heart of gold and a grin to match. To know him was to love him. Anthony was always willing to help and teach others how to do something.
