"ALL day and ALL night ANGELS are watching over the Gordon Family"
"A truly AMAZING teacher is hard to find, difficult to part with and IMPOSSIBLE to forget...Mrs. Gordon was all three"
Annie T. Gordon formerly of Belvidere, NC transitioned peaceful to the other shore surrounded by her loving and devoted family members.
She was the youngest of three children, and the only girl, Annie learned to "hold her own", with her brothers which gave her a sense of courage and bravery that lasted throughout her entire life. At the age of nine, Annie joined Winslow Grove AME Zion Church. She was baptized and received sound biblical instruction that helped her grow in faith.
Mrs. Gordon was one of the most respected and loved educators in the Perquimans County School System. She educated many students at the Perquimans County Union School. Later in life she moved to California where she still had a love for the education field.
To honor her wishes the Gordon family will have a Gathering of Family and Friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 starting promptly at ten o'clock in the morning, at the Winslow Grove AME Zion Church, Belvidere, NC. The Divine Liturgy for a well spoken lady will began at eleven o'clock in the morning, with burial to immediately follow the Liturgy .
Due to the National Pandemic (Covid-19) that we are being faced with at this time, ALL state restrictions and guidelines are in place, with a major emphasis being placed on attendees of either the Gathering of Family and Friends and/or the Divine Liturgy to wear a suitable face mask or covering.
Mrs. Gordon leaves to cherish her beautiful life of teaching to her daughter Kimetha Petteway-Turner (Pastor Ralph) of California; granddaughter Dana Petteway (Marcus Jackson); brother Albert Riddick (Della) of Elizabeth City, NC; nieces and nephews and a plethora of former students who will forever remember how she touched their lives through education.
The Gordon Family granted Educator Gordon her final wishes and brought her earthly vessel back to her hometown. The Gordon Family are entrusting this auspicious moment to the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home. The DJSMFH professional staff will assist the Gordon Family during their time of bereavement and beyond with immaculate, unprecedented, compassionate and personalized detailed services. Please continue to uplift the family of Mrs. Annie Gordon and all connected families through words of comfort, prayer, virtual hugs, thought or a smile!
