The last of twelve offspring of the late Dennis Johnson and Neppie White Johnson, Mrs. Alice R. Felton traded in sleepless and restless nights to rest easy in the arms of the Lord, on the eleventh day of July the year of twenty, twenty at the Sentara Albemarle Hospital in Elizabeth City, NC. Mrs. Felton gained her angel wings and robe, she is now adorn with her crown and walking down the streets paved in gold.
Mrs. Felton was educated in the Perquimans County School System. She was reared in a Christian Home and joined the Poplar Run AME Zion Church in Hertford, NC early in life. Mrs. Alice as she was affectionately called retired from the Perquimans County School System, a job that she absolutely enjoyed especially seeing the smiles of the students. She was the widow of Eddie F. Felton.
The life of Mrs. Felton will be honored on Saturday, July 18, 2020. The first part of her service will be the Open Viewing at Poplar Run AME Zion Church, Hertford, NC at ten o'clock in the morning. The Farewell Ceremony will start at eleven o'clock in the morning with Pastor Jasper Gaskins delivering words of comfort to the family and friends, like Mother Felton would want him to. Immediately following the Farewell Ceremony Mother Felton will be escorted to the Johnson Family cemetery for her Committal Rites.
Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, ALL restrictions are in place with emphasis on ALL attendees wearing face mask. The Felton Family are limiting the number of attendees for the Farewell Ceremony, so if you are wanting to attend it is imperative for you to make proper contact with the children of the deceased to find out the current seating availability.
Mrs. Felton leaves ninety-two years of fond memories to her children-Alice F. Downing (Marcus) of Hertford, NC, Dennis E. Felton (Vernita) of Elizabeth City, NC and Leon F. "Ace" Felton (Nena) of Winfall, NC; eleven grandchildren; a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
The Felton Family carried out the wishes of their beautiful mother and chose her funeral home of choice, the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, to carry out all of her final wishes. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Felton Family during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere and personalized detailed services. Please continue to uplift the immediate family of Mrs. Alice Johnson-Felton, and all connected families through words of comfort, prayers, virtual hugs, thought or a smile or two.
