Willie "Bro" O.
Mallory
December 14, 1947 – August 17, 2025
"Butterflies are sent from HEAVEN above to let us know our loved ones are always near and watching over us"
"We have come to praise and magnify The Lord, For all that He has done
And for the victories we have won
In the good times and in the bad times, in the happy times and in the sad times
Having you there made the difference
Just having you there, just having you in my life made the difference.."
Willie Octavis Mallory our beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, cousin, classmate and friend transitioned peacefully into the arms of his Heavenly Father on Sunday, August 17th, 2025. He was the son of the late Willie Mallory and Virginia Burke Mallory.
He was a lifelong resident of New Hope and earned an education from Perquimans County Union School in Winfall, NC. He was a devoted member of Leigh’s Temple A.M.E. Zion Church where he served as a faithful Trustee and Usher.
On April 18, 1977, Willie was united in holy matrimony to Terrie Harrell. This union brought forth four children. He was a man of many trades and nicknames. Willie , most affectionately known as "Bro" , was a lifetime farmer, mechanic, and carpenter. In his later years, he added long distance truck driver for Quality Seafood to his list of accomplishments.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter Wanda Ferebee and infant grandson Trey.
The Mallory family will celebrate his blessed life on Saturday, the twenty third of August with an hour viewing starting at noon at the Leighs Temple AME Zion Church in New Hope, NC. At the one o'clock hour the Celebration of Life Services will begin. "Bro" will be laid to rest in the Mallory Family Cemetery.
“You toiled so hard for those you loved. You said goodbye to none, your spirit flew before we knew, your work on earth was done.”
Willie leaves to cherish many fond memories to his wife of forty-eight years Terrie Mallory; five children Renae Canady, Berry (Candice), Devin (Carissa), Lisa Corbett (Myles), Naomi; eight grandchildren Clyde Ferebee Jr., Jermaine Ferebee, Lynn Hicks Jr., Shalyndra Hicks, Daome (Raevan), Tarea, Atavia, and Tamia Mallory; five great grandchildren; two sisters Rita Wiggins, Joyce Spence; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
