Obituary

""ALL day and ALL night Angels are watching over the Riddick Family""

""If it had not been for the Lord on my side, tell me where would I be? He kept my enemies away
He let the sun shine through a cloudy day
Oh, he wrapped me in the cradle of his arms
When he knew I'd been battered and torn...""

Reverend Sheraldine Jordan Riddick the daughter of the late Bonnie Lee Jordan and Verna Lee Jordan, was called from labor to reward during the evening hours on the fourteenth day of June in the year of twenty-twenty five. ""Marcy"" as she was affectionately called by all who knew her stood in the gaps, for so many of us. She prayed in her secret place, during the midnight hours, covering her family, church family and community in prayer. She brought Heaven's power to earth. Her life exemplified Romans 8:26—weeping in prayer, yielding to the Holy Spirit, and ministering in love. May her faithful example embolden others to rise, to pray, to intercede, and to trust in the mighty power of God.

Rev. Riddick exuded the many words of being a Proverbs 31 woman. She was a virtuous, capable, God-fearing woman who excels in her roles as wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend and prayer warrior. On August 8, 2010 she was joined in holy matrimony to Alson Leroy Riddick, Sr., with whom she shared a life of love and ministry. Sheraldine was a woman of many talents. She attended Roanoke Collegiate Institute and pursued various professions throughout her life. She worked as a Nurse Aide II, a cosmetologist, and a phenomenal seamstress, even starting her own business called ""Sew and So"".

She was the third oldest of ten children, she was preceded in death by her siblings- Mack Arthur Jordan, James Lee Jordan, Cleophus Jordan, Julian Wayne Jordan, and Berda Mae Watson.

Sheraldine was a devoted and committed member of Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church, always using her time and spiritual gifts for the advancement of the gospel. She was deemed ""The Voice"" because of her angelic and soft spoken voice that one would hear every Sunday morning, during worship service, leading the congregation into morning prayer. From prayer, she would stand flat footed and sing with the choir and often times, holding down the alto section, with her radiant smile. Rev. Marcy, less than ninety days before her transition preached her final word on this side of Heaven, entitled ""When Words Won't Come"" , from II Kings 20:1-5 unbeknownst to us she was preparing us for this day. In true Rev. Marcy fashion, she reminded us of three key components to make it through when we have no words which are: to get alone time with God every day (find a secret place), share your true feelings (go to God in prayer), and if no words are coming out just know that He hears and sees all and He will respond.

The Riddick Family will Celebrate the life of Rev. Marcy starting on Friday, June twenty-seventh from six-thirty in the evening until eight o'clock at the Melton Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Winfall, NC. On Saturday at the two o'clock hour the Rev. Alvin J. Boone, Sr., will bring forth words of comfort. Immediately after the Celebration of Life Rev. Riddick earthly shell will be laid to rest in the Melton Grove Church Cemetery.

""God is the joy and the strength of my life, He removes all pain misery and strife He promised to keep me
Never to leave me He'll never ever come short of His word, I've got to fast and pray
Stay in this narrow way, Keep my life clean every day, I want to go with Him when He comes back
I've come to far
And I'll never turn back...GOD IS, MY ALL and ALL...""

She leaves many years of fond memories to her loving husband- Alson Leroy Riddick, Sr.; her one and only daughter- Shatisha Yvette Parker (Alex Parker); her grandchildren, Joshua A. Swinton, Sr. (Ebony Swinton) and Sha'Kaya A. Swinton; great-grandchildren- Dontea Banks, Joshua A. Swinton, Jr., Journi A. Swinton, and Josiah A. Swinton; siblings: Doris Riddick, Mary Hawkins, Verna Eure, and Richard Jordan, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and cherished friends.

In Christ, she rests—her journey complete. Though we grieve her absence, we rejoice in the promise of eternal reunion in God's glory. May her life be a beacon of faith, kindness, and unwavering hope, reminding us all to live for Christ's eternal purposes . Sheraldine's family entrusted the team of Dennis J.
