It is with sincere heartfelt sympathy that we announce the passing of such a beloved mother, sister, aunt and friend Ms. Naomi Julianna Downing, of Hertford, NC . Ms. Downing slipped peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2018. She bid no one her last farewell or even said good-bye Naomi was gone before we knew it and only God knows why.
Celebration of Life for Naomi will be conducted at Emmanuel Pentacostal Church, Hertford, NC on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 3:00 pm, with Bishop Calvin Johnson, delivering the Eulogy. Naomi will be laid to rest in the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Hertford, NC. A viewing will take place one hour prior to the service at Emmanuel Pentecostal Church. The family will receive friends at the home of the deceased.
Ms. Downing
was the daughter of Mark Lee Downing and Florine Holley Downing.
Naomi
leaves to cherish many fond memories her daughter-Dawn Downing of Orlando Florida; son- Ferrante Downing of Hertford, NC; four sisters: Laeula Downing of Greensboro, NC Ramona Rawls (Sameul) of Edenton, NC, Iris Norman (Frank) of Elizabeth City, NC and Lynne Thatch (Calvin) of Hertford, NC; four brothers, George Downing of Greensboro, NC, Alvin Downing of Petersburg, VA, Marcus Downing (Alice) of Hertford, NC and Willie Downing (Lula) of Hertford, NC, four grandchildren and one great grand child
