On Monday, September 21, 2020 the gentle and quiet frame of Johnnie Howell, Sr. , received his angel wings at the Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, NC. Johnnie adored his beautiful wife, loved his children and grandchildren and always made sure his sisters were taken care of.

The Howell Family has finalized their final act of love for their beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother. A walk-thru viewing will take place on Sunday, September 27, 2020 starting precisely at five o'clock until seven o'clock in the evening at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Hertford, NC. On Monday, September 28, 2020 at one o'clock in the afternoon the Celebration of Life Service will take place at the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Hertford, NC. Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic that we are encountering during this time, ALL participants attending the walk-thru viewing as well as the Celebration of Life Service will be required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.

Mr. Howell leaves to cherish many years of fond memories to his wife-Shirley Howell; daughter-Carla Howell; son-Johnnie Howell, Jr.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters-Alice Howell, Elizabeth Tavares, Faye Abner, Shirley Ames and Ernestine Knox; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
