"ALL day and ALL night angels are watching over the Perry Family"

During the midday hours of, Saturday October 12, 2024 a beloved father, grandfather, brother, cousin and friend by the name of Mr. John Wilson "Rex" Perry transitioned from his earthly dwelling, to receive his great reward with our Heavenly Father, while surrounded by his devoted family members. “Rex” as he was affectionately known by, was the son of the late Robert Luther Perry and Louise Harrell Perry Scott.

On March 26, 1956 John was united in marriage to the Late Shirley Warren and to this union four children were born.

John accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and he attended Church at First Gospel Tabernacle located “up the lane,” in Winfall, NC.

When John returned back to North Carolina, after years of living in New Jersey and working in retail, he began working with Smith Farms under the ownership of the late Paul Smith Sr. and Paul Smith Jr. until his health declined.

I’ve decided to make Jesus my choice."

The Perry family will celebrate the eighty-nine years of "Rex" life where family and friends will be able to view his earthly remains starting at noon, in the sacrarium of All for His Glory Christian Ministries, Hertford, NC. At one o'clock in the afternoon the Homegoing Celebration will convene with Apostle Gwayland McCleney, Sr., bringing forth words of comfort. After the Eulogy, the Perry Family and Rex's friends will peregrination to the Cedarwood Cemetery in Hertford, NC where Rex will be laid to rest.

Rex leaves to cherish his memories to four daughters- Cynthia Perry, Hertford NC, Sandra Felton (Cetric) of Winfall, NC, Maude Turner (Willie) Elizabeth City, NC, Joy Anderson (Robert) of Anchorage Alaska; three sons- Ernest Perry (Cheryl) of Hertford, NC, Mathew White of Raleigh, NC, Andre Sutton of West Covina, California; two brothers Malachi White (Jackie) and George White Jr (Tonya) of Elizabeth City, NC; one sister Reverend Shirley Leigh of Elizabeth City NC; three sisters-in-laws- Barbara Warren of Hertford, NC, Bertha Warren (Joe) and Daisy Bowe of Elizabeth City, NC; two brother-in-laws Johnny Ray Warren of Plymouth, NC and David Warren of Kinston, NC; one son-in-law- Tony Parker of Hertford, NC; fourteen grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by one daughter- Ellen Parker, one granddaughter- Terrique Norman; four sisters- Essie Mae Johnikins, Madeline Fletcher, Odessa Lee and Janie Carmichael; two brothers- James Overton, Barion White Sr.

The Perry Family entrusted the team of Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home of Gatesville, NC to serve them during their time of bereavement. DJSMFH professional team will assist the Perry Family during their hours of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and detailed personalized services catered to the Perry Family wishes and desires.
