The Mitchell Family of South Mills, NC mourns in the passing of their beloved E. Eugene Mitchell . Eugene departed this life in the early morning hours of Saturday, June 9, 2018 in the comfort of his home and surrounded by his devoted son, daughter-in-law and caregiver; three days shy of his seventy-ninth birthday.

The Mitchell Family has decided on the following arrangements for their loved one. Viewing of Mr. Mitchell will take place on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 beginning at ten o'clock in the morning at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, South Mills, NC. The Celebration of Life will begin promptly at the eleven o'clock hour, with Rev. Timothy Hicks delievering the Eulogy for this heartfelt occasion. Eugene's final resting place will be at the funerary grounds of the New Burying Ground Cemetery, South Mills, NC.

Eugene was the son of the late Elisha Mitchell and Arrie White Mitchell of South Mills, NC. He worked many years as a farmer, construction worker and logger.

Eugene was an enthusiastic fan of the Dallas Cowboys and did not mind debating with anyone, on why they were the absolute best football team ( How 'bout 'dem COWBOYS )!

Mr. Mitchell leaves many years of fond memories to his loving and devoted son-Steve McPherson (Wendy) of South Mills and two grandchildren.

The Mitchell-McPherson Families selected the professionals at the Denis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home to assist them during their time of bereavement through sincere, compassionate, personalized services for Eugene .
