"ALL day and ALL night, ANGELS are watching over the Miller Family"
At age 71, Thomas peacefully passed from this life into eternal life on Sunday, October 6, 2019, in Boston, MA, surrounded by his wife and children. Thomas Melvin Miller, affectionately known as "Loke" was born in love on June 15, 1948, in Winfall,NC, to the late Deautry Riddick and the late Ethel Miller.
Thomas was baptized at Ellis Temple Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, and it was evident that Thomas was destined for great things in life. Growing up in a large family with eight siblings, "Loke" thoroughly enjoyed his childhood. He lived a fruitful life. He would often say that if he had to do it all over again, he would choose to be born into the same family God had already blessed him with.
Thomas attended High School at Perquimans County Union School in Winfall, NC, where he thrived as a star football player. A double-threat, he played both running back and linebacker and was a member of the Perquimans County Championship Team in 1965. In 2005, that team was inducted into the Perquimans County Sports Hall of Fame. As a life-long fan of the New York sports teams, he was by far most passionate about his NY football Giants. He would defend his team at any time to anybody.
The Miller Family wants to remember a life well lived and loved by allowing friends and family two hours of reflections and viewing starting at six o'clock and ending at eight o'clock, on Friday, October 18, 2019. On Saturday, October 19, 2019 the Miller family will Celebrate his life in a Homegoing Celebration at the Bagleys Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, in Winfall, NC where Pastor Vickie Joyner is the Pastor and will be Presiding and Rev. Kenneth Shaw, II will be providing the family with words of comfort for the days and years to come. Concluding the Homegoing Celebration the Miller Family will travel to the family cemetery.
He had a host of family and friends who would often seek his counsel, and his passing will be poignantly felt by us all.
