It is with heartfelt sympathy that the adept team at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home annunciate the passing of the beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend Merline Newsome of Eure, NC. Merline gained her crown and robe on the blessed Sunday morning hours of November the fourth two thousand and eighteen at the Accoridous Health and Rehabilitation Center, Gatesville, NC. 

On January 17, 1928, in Philadelphia, PA the late Ernest and Rosa Wiggins welcomed a beautiful daughter in their lives, which they named Merline. She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband of forty-seven years, Linwood Newsome.

Viewing of our beloved angelic mother, grandmother, aunt and friend will take place on Saturday the tenth of November starting at one o'clock, in the Vestery of the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home in Gatesville, NC. At two o'clock in the afternoon the family will go forth with their Service of Rememberance and Reflection for Merline. She will be laid to rest with her family in Eure, NC. Immediately following the burial rituals friends and family will amass at the Hope Fellowship Church in Gatesville, NC for a reception and continuation of amity.

Merline has left footprints to walk in and memories to share to her attentive and devoted six children- Jacqueline Moultrie of New Windsor NY; Veronica Newsome of Brooklyn NY; Denise Newsome of Hempstead NY; Constance Newsome of Eure NC; Allen Newsome of Eure NC; and Sabrina Newsome of Pennsylvania. Merline also leaves behind nine outstanding grandchildren and nine wonderful great grandchildren.

The family of Merline Newsome has entrusted the professional team at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home to assist them during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, heartfelt and compassionate, detailed services. Please continue to uplift the immediate family and all connected families through words of comfort, prayers, hugs or a smile or two.
