Melton "Bronco" Bryant Obituary

"ALL day, and ALL night ANGELS are watching over the Bryant Family"

"Bronco had some good days,
he had some hills to climb,
he had some weary days,
And some sleepless nights, BUT he NEVER COMPLAINED..."

On Friday, morning June fourteenth, two thousand nineteen our Heavenly father knew that that the hills were getting hard to climb for Melton Hughlette Bryant, so he dispatched his Angels to the Citadel of Elizabeth City, NC and closed his weary eyelids and whispered Peace be Thine. It broke the hearts of his wife, daughters,  grandchildren, brothers and sisters to lose him but he did not go alone because a part of them went with him the day God him home. He was the son of the late Melton J. Bryant and Sarah W. Bryant.

Melton was affectionately known to many by the nickname of "Bronco". He worked as a skilled mechanic for a number of years. The greatest joy that "Bronco" had was being a hard-working provider for his wife and daughters that he loved dearly. Melton was an avid watcher of football, with his support going to the WASHINGTON REDSKINS.

Mrs. Bryant along with her daughters without opposition agreed upon the final arrangements for their beloved "Bronco". On Saturday, the twenty-second day of June at the Riddicks Grove Missionary Baptist Church, Belvidere, NC, Melton's family and friends will have an hour of reflection and reminiscing time for a life well lived, starting at one o'clock in the afternoon. At  one fifty-nine in the afternoon, Pastor Millie Jordan will start the processional to lead the Bryant family from the vestibule to the sanctuary to begin the Celebration of Life Service. At the conclusion of the Celebration of LIfe, the Bryant Family will journey to the Riddicks Grove Church Cemetery where Mr. Bryant will be laid to rest.

"Bronco" leaves to cherish many years of blissful memories to his wife-Esther Hunter Bryant; three beautiful daughters-Valeria Bryant-Johnson (Terry), Bridgette Bryant and Melvina Bryant; four sisters-Ella Flemmings (Paul), Vivian Prophet (Leonce), Shirley Manley (Donald) and Lileia Bryant; two brothers-Calvin Bryant (Bertha) and George Bryant (Donnie); five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The Bryant Family has chosen their family at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, to carry out their wishes to honor their husband and father. DJSMFH professional staff will assist the Bryant Family during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and personalized detailed services.
