We are sadden to join in with our family to announce the passing of their beloved mother, grandmother, aunt and cousin Harriett Ann "Hattie" White Whidbee. "Hattie" transitioned during the early morning hours of Thursday, March 21st, 2019 at the Elizabeth City Health and Rehabilitation Center, Elizabeth City, NC. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family by her bedside.
She was the daughter of the late Jesse White and Maggie Bogue White. She was also preceded in death by her husband Henry Whidbee. "Hattie" was an outstanding childcare provider, she watched/baby-sat so many of the community children.
The children of Mother Whidbee have unanimously decided on the following services for their mother which are; family and friends will have one hour to view and reflect on the ninety years that Harriett impacted so many lives on Sunday, March 24th 2019 starting promptly at two o'clock until two fifty-nine, at the First Baptist Missionary Church, Hertford, NC. At precisely the three o'clock hour the Celebration of Life Service will begin with Rev. Jonathan S. Franklin, as the Pastor, Pastor Kera Johnson will be the Officiant and Bishop McKinley Gilliam will bring forth words of comfort. Mother Hattie will be laid to rest in the Cedarwood Cemetery, Hertford, NC.
Harriett leaves many years of memories, that will become her legacy to her devoted son- Elder Billy White (Hattie) of Elizabeth City, NC; loving daughter-Jennifer Whidbee of Hertford, NC; one sister-in-law- Pastor Catherine White; five grandchildren; four great grandchildren and one great grandchild.
The White and Whidbee Families have chosen their family at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home, to carry out their wishes to honor their mother. DJSMFH professional staff will assist the White and Whidbee Families during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere, heartfelt, compassionate and personalized detailed services.
