David Sharp Obituary

"ALL night, ALL day ANGELS are watching over the Sharp Family"

" I don't know about tomorrow, I just live from day to day, and I don't borrow from its sunshine, for it skies may turn to gray, and I don't worry about my future, For I know what Jesus said, and today He walks beside me..."

In the early morning hours of Monday, December the tenth, two thousand eighteen David Reckford Sharp was called home to join his beloved wife the late Maggie Perry Sharp. David's transition was witnessed by his loving and devoted children.

David was the son of the late Luther Sharp and Susie Billups Sharp. Upon, completion of school, David made the choice to serve his country and enlisted in the United States Army. David received his certification and became a Master Electrician while living in Chicago, IL and worked many years for Campbell.

The Sharp children have unanimously decided on the following arrangements to take place for their father. On Saturday, the fifteenth day of December, friends and family will have the opportunity to discern David's earthly shell at the Union Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, Elizabeth City, NC; starting promptly at the noon hour. The discerning aspect of David's service will last for exactly the sixty minutes, that the family has requested. Precisely at the end of part one of the service, the official Celebration of Life Services will begin. After the Celebration of Life Service, the motorcade will journey to the Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery for part three of the services, which will include final burial committal rituals as well as Honorable Military Rites.

David leaves many years of teaching to his beloved children- Deloris Sharp, Cheryl Mae Sharp and David R. Sharp (Jarnata); sisters-Shirley Williams, Evelyn Jackson (Joseph), Agnus Sharp, Brunetta Floyd and Sylvia Harris (Fred); brothers-Luther Sharp, Jr. (Fannie) and Gaylord Sharp (Pauline); his legacy will continue through his seven grandchildren and eight grandchildren. David also, leaves many years of memories to a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and students of his intellectual teachings.

The Sharp Family was given many positive recommendations and testimonials by family and friends to entrust their father into the capable and compassionate care of the team at the Dennis J. Stallings Memorial Funeral Home. DJSMFH professional team will assist David's family during their time of bereavement and beyond through unprecedented, sincere and personalized services. Please continue to uplift Deloris, Cheryl and David along with other family members through words of comfort, prayer, hugs, thought or a smile or two.

"...For He knows what lies ahead
Many things about tomorrow
I don't seem to understand
But I, know who holds tomorrow
And I know who holds, who holds my hand..."

At DJSMFH we strive to make your family's memory a legacy and where you're treated like OUR family...NOT a "number"!
